All the buildings on the farm were designed to celebrate the natural
beauty of the West Coast of British Columbia. They consist of cedar
shingles and shakes and local stone.
Pitt Meadows is a natural occurring flood plain that has been dyked to
allow for agriculture. The natural water table is consistently close to
the surface and, therefore, we back-filled all the foundation areas
with gravel to allow for drainage, and have used crushed gravel and
paving stones on the driveways and patios to also allow for drainage.

The interior of the buildings contain a variety of re-used farm objects
and furniture from our prairie heritage and from our travels. Most
things have had a previous life and have found a new home or purpose
with us. Old windows and old flooring have become tables, old cupboards
are now bathroom fixtures, and old pots and ladders provide wonderful
places to hold new plants.
